Unsure about GDPR? Or how about establishing a security framework to protect your data?
Bridewell Consulting, with over 15 years of experience in Information Security and Data Privacy, have created a thought provoking breakfast event regarding the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and how compliance can be supported through security frameworks like ISO27001.
With the GDPR coming into enforcement on May 25th 2018, with potential fines of up to €20 million or 4% global turnover at the supervisory authorities disposal, this is a very significant focus for businesses across Europe. Speaker Anthony Young has been working in Information Security and Privacy full time for 14 years and is a Certified GDPR Practitioner and ISO27001 Lead Auditor. He has led security and privacy programmes for some of the UK’s largest organisations and is now busy helping Bridewell’s clients be in line for compliance by May 2018. Anthony believes passionately about making security and privacy available and understandable for all and has been busy speaking on GDPR around the country; providing an overview on the GDPR, what companies should be doing now and the benefits it can bring to business.
Bridewell Consulting will also be touching on the International Standards Organisation framework ISO27001, and the benefits of this certification to your business. This framework of policies and procedures covers the legal, physical and technical controls involved in an organisation’s information risk management process. Speaker Scott Nicholson is a professional member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) and has been supporting companies with ISO27001 for many years. He has been a leading speaker at several industry conferences on Privacy and Cyber Security, talking alongside speakers such as the Information Commissioner and the European Data Protection Supervisor.
This event, being held on Tuesday 28th November, will provide you with an excellent overview of what the GDPR is and what you need to do to be compliant by the 25th May 2018.
