CREST

We Are CREST Accredited!

Published 30 August 2018

Bridewell are pleased to announce that we are now a Council for Registered Ethical Security Testers (CREST) accredited company for penetration testing services. This provides assurance to our clients that when they work with us, they are working with a trusted company with quality and technical expertise to deliver quality, value added penetration testing services. CREST certification is now added to Bridewell’s status as a National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) certified consultancy, which is another robust accreditation framework that provides confidence to our clients that we have the right experts, methodologies and quality processes within the services we deliver.

With threats changing so rapidly and increased compliance requirements such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), businesses need to move equally fast and stay ahead of the curve to protect themselves and their customers. Working with qualified, experienced penetration testers and consultants, such as those who are awarded the CREST accreditation, provides a level of independent assurance over the services being delivered.

What Is CREST Accreditation?

CREST are an accreditation body and non-profit organisation that provides regulation, accountability and accreditation to the information security marketplace. CREST provides internationally recognised accreditations for organisations and individuals who provide penetration testing, cyber incident response and threat intelligence services. All CREST member companies undergo demanding and stringent assessment; while CREST qualified individuals have to pass rigorous professional level examinations to demonstrate knowledge, skill and competence. CREST also supports the industry by providing in-depth guidance material and commissioning detailed research projects to its members.

For organisations looking to buy cyber security services like penetration testing a CREST accreditation provides security and confidence that the work will be done by qualified people with up to date knowledge, skills and trustworthy practices. It also assures our clients that the individual consultants are supported by a business with appropriate policies, processes and procedures for the information security world. This, combined with the company assessment, showcases that the CREST associated businesses are the best of the best when it comes to information security.

What Does This Mean for Bridewell?

This is another step forward in Bridewell’s journey of becoming the leading  cyber security consultancy in the UK. Bridewell’s Delivery Director Scott Nicholson stated “This is a step in the right direction for us to ratify our existing capabilities within the penetration testing area of cyber security. We’ve been delivering penetration testing to a vast number of organisations, ranging from small businesses to global organisations, and CREST accreditation is a great way of acknowledging our expert consultants, our methodologies and ethos as a company, which is focussed around providing the highest level of value to our clients.

It’s yet another accreditation that we are proud to have obtained alongside our NCSC certification, Cyber Essentials certification, ISO 27001 and Global Defence Security award, just to name a few.  However, we will continue to deliver and remain customer focussed, working closely with clients, helping them improve their security posture and providing services and solutions that will help protect their systems, data and support their business strategy.”
